Lay Your Secrets Before God – Ep 19

This week, Minister Shawn Lawrimore is joined by Evangelist Cheryl Banks-Hayes to explore the importance of confession and laying your secrets before God.  To move forward with God, action is required. Strength of conviction. The ability to forsake those things that hold us back.  And to mind our thoughts.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died and your life is not hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:2-3

What the heart is full of, the tongue speaks, as the well-known saying goes, ‘We cannot help speaking of the the things that are uppermost in our thoughts’.

If one listens to the conversations of the average person it would seem as if we do not in the least heed to Paul’s advice to the church of Colosse.  The things we talk about are usually pessimistic.  If our fellow Christians were to listen to us, they would probably be unable to gather that we actually believe that God will provide for us in the future. Conquering Rejection – Ep 18

Minister Shawn Lawrimore discusses road of rejection, the role it plays in our lives building insecurities, fostering the idea of no and facing it head on.  Guest writer, Wendy Freeman pens this week’s devotional message, “Wake Up My Love”.

At what age do you learn self-love? Is it when your parents tell you how cute you are? How about when family members tell you who you resemble, and who has what feature? Did you learn what self-love was inside of your home at all?  Growing up in a Christian family, did you learn what self-love was based on what the bible said? The issue in families is that we are not taught self-love until faced with insecurities due to bullying, gender stigma, or body image and weight stigmas. Thus causing some people to look for love in other places, lacking the wisdom to recognize what love really is.

In a nutshell, self-love is viewing you the way God sees you. God knew you and loved you before your mother carried you in her womb. As much as I love my children, I would not even attempt to count the numbers of hairs on their heads…but guess who knows? God does! God chose to create you! God chose to sacrifice His only begotten son for you! As children of God, do you understand that sacrifice alone means that we are heirs of God!? We are heirs of true and divine royalty! Jesus, the Vine to my Branch – Episode 17

‘I Love You’. Such a powerful phrase, many expectations, dreams and potential in one phrase.  Depending on the speaker of thes words, the validity and connotation can vary. One thing’s for sure, when God tells us, “I Love You” we can be sure it’s the real deal. As such, we have to ensure that when we face ourselves and say those famed three words, we too are the real deal.

In God we find the vine to our branch, how to we use the love, consitency and faith of the vine to nurture and strengthen our branch with self-love?  This week, Minister Shawn Lawrimore challenges us to build our relationship with God with self-love as a foundation.  This week’s message is supplemented in the devotional “Jesus is The Vine”.  “I am the vine; you are the branches.  If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”  John 15:5

The vine and the branches form an inseparable unit. We cannot see where the vine ends and the branch begins.  The branch is continually being fed by the vine.  If the branch is cut from the vine, it will wither and die.

You must remain in Jesus like the branch in the vine.  This implies that you will be willing to work on your relationship with Him, that you will grow and become stronger every day, so that you will be able to bear much fruit.  It also means that you will get to know him better, and love Him even more. White Flags & God’s Plan – Ep 16

How do you get unstuck? How do you beat fear and step out from behind your most miserable season? God say’s “Surrender”.  This week, MInister Shawn Lawrimore is joined by Evangelish Cheryl Banks-Hayes for a discusion on healing through surrender, waving your white flag for God’s plan to manifest through you.  Check out this week’s devotional message, ‘The New Peter’:

But Peter and John replied, “judge for yourself whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”  Acts 4:19-20

Fortunately Peter’s story does not end in the courtyard of the high priest.  When we read of Peter again, in the beginning of Act, we encounter an altogether different Peter.  His inspiring sermon on the day of Pentecost caused three thousand people to come to repentance. Afterwards, when the Sanhedrin commanded Peter and John not to speak or teach at all in the Name of Jesus, he declared in no uncertain terms that they could not keep quiet about what they had seen and heard.  Read more here.

Dreams & Butterfly’s – Healing with Minister Shawn Lawrimore EP 15

How do you release the traps of your mind and seasons to Faith?  If God has given you a vision, you are equipped to face the butterfly’s that accompany your dreams. God will require you do get up and do the hard work. Faith without works is dead;   James 2:17,

That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.  For when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:10

The same thorn with which Paul had wrestled so much ultimately became a positive power in his life. It taught him that his own strength was not sufficient for the thorns and stumbling-blocks in his life, but God was.

Without the stumbling-blocks and thorns in your life you risk the danger thinking that you can help yourself, that you do not really need God.  By allowing thorns in your life, God shows you that you cannot manage without Him, that you need Him every day of your life. He makes His power available to you when you are willing to admit your dependence on Him.  Read More Here.

The Valley Of The Shadow of Death – Healing with Minister Shawn Lawrimore – Ep14

In Episode 14 Minister Shawn Lawrimore addresses the important of building a solid relationship with God.  This week’s message, ‘The Valley Of The Shadow of Death’ is strongly rooted in Psalm 23:3-4:  He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.  I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

All our paths sometimes take us through dark places and dangerous valleys’ places where we can’t see God or hear His voice. In all our lives there are times of crisis when it seems as if God is far way and a stronger, as if He is no longer acting like the loving God we are used to.  The psalmist also experienced time like these. In Psalm 10:1 he asks, “Why, O Lord, do You stand far off? Why do You hid Yourself in times of trouble?”

Children of God are by no means exempt from hardship and suffering, but we know that God is with us throughout these times; that He walks with us through the valley of the shadow of death; that He is able to protect us against all dander; that He never lets go of our hands, even though we sometimes pull our hands from His.  And in God’s hands His children are always safe.

You may take this promise with you on your journey through life.. God is there for you in times of crisis, in times of suffering, in times of sorrow.

Even if you are lost in the valley of the shadow of death, you can still be assured that He will lead you safely through every danger, and the you will one day have eternal life with God.

Heavenly Father, it is so wonderful to know that You are with me when I have  to travel through the Valley of the shadow of death; that your hand guides me even there and the You will ultimately lead me safely home.  Amen.

Healing with Minister Shawn Lawrimore – EP 13

In Episode 13 Minister Shawn Lawrimore addresses the unnecessarily suffering from inferiority complexes that plagues the thoughts of many women.  This week’s message, Faith & Your Self-Image is strongly rooted in Psalm 100:3:  Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people.

Many People suffer unnecessarily from inferiority complexes.  We have not yet learned that faith has a lot to do with the way you see yourself.  Although we are small and insignificant when measured against the magnificent God, He created us.  We are people created in His image and we belong to Him.

Women who believe in God need never suffer from an inferiority complex.  You are special because God “doesn’t make no junk” somebody once rightly said.

You are special to God. In the whole world there is not a single other person just like you.  What God thinks of you is more important than what you think of yourself.

To know how highly God thinks of you, you can just go and read your bible.  It is written that your are the you are the apple of His eye, that He knows you by name, that you are precious to Him, and that He looks after you always.  You are precious to Him, He looks after you, helps you and protects you.  He promises to be with you always.  You are indeed, created in His image and are His representative here on earth.

Thus, God wants you to love yourself, to feel good about yourself.  Whenever you feel inferior again, think about how positively and highly God regards you.

Heavenly Father, is is wonderful to realize the I have been created in your image and that You love me.  Thank you that I need never feel inferior again.  Amen
