Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion, people are made great and given strength.
As a Child, I loved Popeye cartoons. Those spinach-eating scenes, where a can of the green stuff morphed into big biceps, always made me giggle. Nothing is funny, however, about the health risk of muscle-building steroids. From liver damage and high blood pressure, to infertility and mood shifts, clear dangers face abusers of such drugs.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. – Philippians 2:14-16
The trick to finding quality in your life is in your attitude-how you look at life, whether you see the glass half full or half empty. One day two prisoners looked to the outside world through the same prison window: One saw the mud of the previous night’s rain and the other the blue sky and he praised God for another day. Their attitude determine what they saw.

Join Minister Shawn Lawrimore of She Royal Ministries in Philadelphia, PA for episode 24. Shawn welcomed Evangelist Cheryl Banks-Hayes to discuss ‘Hope thou in God’.
Sometimes when we are consumed in the things happening to and around us, we can loose sight of the Lord and his love. We are human, as individuals we suffer great challenges, living paycheck to paycheck, foreclosure, addictions, illness. As a global community, we experience political corruption, critical accidents, natural disasters delivered to devices in our palms.
How do we come up against our personal and global challenges? How do we continue to seek and walk with our merciful God to healing and growth? Bibically, we are taught and reminded today, hope is the first step. Not hope so, hope KNOW!

Shawn penned a message of devotion this week, titled, ‘Love Must Be Sincere’ which begins, “Children of God are recognized by their love for God and for each other. Paul tells the Christians in Rome that their love must firstly be sincere. All of us are usually so busy with our own things that we have precious little time and attention left for other people. This is one of the reasons why our love is not always sincere. We pretend to be interested in other people’s problems, while we actually only care about our own problems.
The original Greek text refers to an actor wearing a mask. Sincere love is therefore love without a mask. It is a love that is genuine and sincere, a love that puts others first, so that my own interest are less important. In ourselves we are not capable of such a love, because it is the type of love with which God lies us. God is love and only He can teach us to love like that; to see other people as He sees them; to look past the faults and shortcomings and love the people behind them.” Read the entire message here.
This week, Minister Shawn Lawrimore is joined by Evangelist Cheryl Banks-Hayes to explore the importance of confession and laying your secrets before God. To move forward with God, action is required. Strength of conviction. The ability to forsake those things that hold us back. And to mind our thoughts.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died and your life is not hidden with Christ in God.
What the heart is full of, the tongue speaks, as the well-known saying goes, ‘We cannot help speaking of the the things that are uppermost in our thoughts’.
If one listens to the conversations of the average person it would seem as if we do not in the least heed to Paul’s advice to the church of Colosse. The things we talk about are usually pessimistic. If our fellow Christians were to listen to us, they would probably be unable to gather that we actually believe that God will provide for us in the future. Read more.
Minister Shawn Lawrimore discusses road of rejection, the role it plays in our lives building insecurities, fostering the idea of no and facing it head on. Guest writer, Wendy Freeman pens this week’s devotional message, “Wake Up My Love”.
At what age do you learn self-love? Is it when your parents tell you how cute you are? How about when family members tell you who you resemble, and who has what feature? Did you learn what self-love was inside of your home at all? Growing up in a Christian family, did you learn what self-love was based on what the bible said? The issue in families is that we are not taught self-love until faced with insecurities due to bullying, gender stigma, or body image and weight stigmas. Thus causing some people to look for love in other places, lacking the wisdom to recognize what love really is.
In a nutshell, self-love is viewing you the way God sees you. God knew you and loved you before your mother carried you in her womb. As much as I love my children, I would not even attempt to count the numbers of hairs on their heads…but guess who knows? God does! God chose to create you! God chose to sacrifice His only begotten son for you! As children of God, do you understand that sacrifice alone means that we are heirs of God!? We are heirs of true and divine royalty! Read more.
How do you release the traps of your mind and seasons to Faith? If God has given you a vision, you are equipped to face the butterfly’s that accompany your dreams. God will require you do get up and do the hard work. Faith without works is dead; James 2:17,
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:10
The same thorn with which Paul had wrestled so much ultimately became a positive power in his life. It taught him that his own strength was not sufficient for the thorns and stumbling-blocks in his life, but God was.
Without the stumbling-blocks and thorns in your life you risk the danger thinking that you can help yourself, that you do not really need God. By allowing thorns in your life, God shows you that you cannot manage without Him, that you need Him every day of your life. He makes His power available to you when you are willing to admit your dependence on Him. Read More Here.

In Episode 14 Minister Shawn Lawrimore addresses the important of building a solid relationship with God. This week’s message, ‘The Valley Of The Shadow of Death’is strongly rooted in Psalm 23:3-4: He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
All our paths sometimes take us through dark places and dangerous valleys’ places where we can’t see God or hear His voice. In all our lives there are times of crisis when it seems as if God is far way and a stronger, as if He is no longer acting like the loving God we are used to. The psalmist also experienced time like these. In Psalm 10:1 he asks, “Why, O Lord, do You stand far off? Why do You hid Yourself in times of trouble?”
Children of God are by no means exempt from hardship and suffering, but we know that God is with us throughout these times; that He walks with us through the valley of the shadow of death; that He is able to protect us against all dander; that He never lets go of our hands, even though we sometimes pull our hands from His. And in God’s hands His children are always safe.
You may take this promise with you on your journey through life.. God is there for you in times of crisis, in times of suffering, in times of sorrow.
Even if you are lost in the valley of the shadow of death, you can still be assured that He will lead you safely through every danger, and the you will one day have eternal life with God.
Heavenly Father, it is so wonderful to know that You are with me when I have to travel through the Valley of the shadow of death; that your hand guides me even there and the You will ultimately lead me safely home. Amen.
